Football

Football is the game @ our house
right now...soon it will be basketball.

This year was Josh's first year playing tackle.
I was worried at first...But boy has be proved this mamma wrong!

He play offensive tackle and did a superb job!
He has worked incredibly hard this year
and loved and earned every bump,bruise and or scar.

His last game was amazing to watch
Makes waiting for next season seem sooo far away.
Good thing Basketball starts next week to keep me busy :-)

Autumn

This week I was lucky enough to join Haley on her
Preschool field trip to HeeHaws
(a local farm/pumpkin patch)She had a great time picking her own pumpkin
right from the vine
sliding down their homemade slides

and best of all getting the two of us lost
in the corn maze!

Welcome Chloe!

Joy's sister, Karen, had her third baby last week -- a girl. She is beautiful.  When I hold newborns like her, I often wish that we were not limited to the number of children we are able to have in this life.

Lake Powell

Ben and I have been off on our own little world for the last week@ Lake Powell
We have slept (kind of) if you count sleeping on the floor sleep after 30
We have swam
We have played games
We have layed in the sun
We have read books
We visited Indian ruins
We have laughed
We have cliff jumped
We have watched friends fish
We have eat'n WELL
We have surfed
We have watched movies
We have hiked Whole in the Rock
We visited Rainbow bridge
Ben has worked on his book
But best of all we have been together and with great friends.

Scout Camp

Mitch is off to his first year of Scout Camp. The poor kid was lucky to even get packed with all the craziness going on at the homestead. Only three more days until he gets back. We miss him.

Spring Clean Up

So with the beautiful

weather we had last week...(which had now turned ugly again)

we went to work on the yard and house.

We borrowed cousin Roger for some help too.Roger and Ben fixed the leak around our skylight
And trimmed the trees around the house

Ethan helped by getting ready for the bon fire

Boys and Fire makes for a great day of hard work!!

How did you spend your Saturday?

With only 8 more weeks of school

the projects are piling up!

So much so we enlisted my sister

for her creativity and her cricket machine.Nothing like 8 hours of homework

but we now have posters, and costumes

for Abigail Adams and Abraham Lincoln

We also have a "simple" machine

that is not quite so simple.

Ben and Josh spent Saturday

building a catipult.

Beware it launches marbles across the room
I think I will be sending marshmellows to school to launch instead.
Need to take final pictures when displayed at the school next week.

as we are preparing to outfit

at this house we don't ask

"What's for dinner?"

We ask what's for dessert!
