The last week of school for my kids is really just FUN
there is no school work just activities
to make a mom be busy and be at the school
all day everyday
I must admit it is really fun.
Our school holds a mini marathon.
Each year Mitch and Meg have a STRONG desire to win.
This year they competed in the 4th-6th grade run.
a 6th grader got 1st and a fellow 4th grader (Derek) who is just speedy was second.
It is Mitchell's goal to one day beat Derek. He has come in behind Derek every year.
Mitch ran his mile in 6minutes and 1second
Derek ran his in 5minutes 52seconds. OH so close.
Maybe next year.
However Not too shabby for a 10 year old!
Megan came in 7th total. But was the 4th girl to cross the line.
Missing the medal by one girl.
She did awesome!
She ran her mile in 6minutes and 20seconds.
She was behind 2 6th graders one being Derek's older sister, and a 5th grader.
She did however beat Dereks twin sister Emily.
Emily feels about beating Megan how
Mitchell feels about beating Derek.
Megan is determined to get a medal next year!!
But still not too shabby!
Heaven knows I could NEVER run a 6 minute mile not even an 8 at that.
I'll stick to my 10-12 minute ones ( and sometimes longer ones) thank you.
Here is our Josh. He runs but doesn't care to be "speedy"
and that is OK!!
Here he is lined up waiting to run with his group
the 1st -3rd graders.

Josh ran his mile in 9minutes and 40seconds.
He takes after his mom
not too speedy but FINISHED and had a great time!
Kudos to your children and their mini-marathon. As long as they had fun, that's what is important. Maybe next year, they can come home with some blue ribbons. Sounds like they had a fun time.
ReplyDeletewow! good job Hutchins kids! The Juracan's are going to have to really start training now for next May! LOL!
