Okay, I think that I am
the Salt Lake City 1/2 marathon.
Okay, so it's not a full marathon...
It's going to take me some time to work up to
that again...I'm thinking maybe Sept, but
right now it's WINTER!!!!
It takes everything I have to
brave the cold, ice, and snow...
Good thing I talked a friend
Into Running it with me!
She makes it all worth it.
I MISSED YOU THIS MORNING JO!!!
GET WELL SOON :-)
I concur. You are crazy. But KUDOS to you for keepin' it up!!!

No way! I couldn't run around the block. Literally. But even after knee surgery, I doubt I'll ever choose to run around the block. You're amazing.
ReplyDeleteI miss running! I hurt my ankle on those snow drifts out there so be careful!
ReplyDeleteNo argument here, Joy. You're nuts.
ReplyDeleteAWWWW...that was sweet! I missed you too :-( Believe me, I WANT to bet back out there because I need it. I need the exercise, the challenge, and most importantly, my friend :-) Let's hope I am back in the game by Saturday...
ReplyDeleteI think you're are MOVTIVATED! Wish I had some of that...send some my way. Someday I'd love to run a race - just not that long. :) I'm cheering for you!
ReplyDeleteThat's so great! How long do you run each day to prepare for something like that? It's on my list to do...maybe 2010! I need some of your discipline.
ReplyDeleteThe half marathon is a great one to start preparing for. average training runs are 2-4 miles long for the first couple of months - about 3-4 days a week. I never ran more than 8 miles when preparing for the Provo 1/2 marathon and I still made it :) If that seems crazy then prepare for a 10k (6mile) race by running 1-3 mile runs a few times a week and then move to 3-5 mile runs.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Joy! You are an inspiration in all you do. Good luck with the 1/2 marathon when it comes up. You're looking good!! Love Aunt Shirley
ReplyDeleteGood for you, I am so impressed. I tried to keep up the morning running, but 6:00 was getting too cold and I am a pansy. I guess the Wii fit is going to have to do until spring thaw. :)
ReplyDeleteWOW!! You are going to do great! Way to go!
